HARVEST’24, the annual 2-weeks Missions training and short term outreach of Omega Centre for World Missions will forever have indelible marks on the lives of the participants, the Missions field where they served, the Missionaries that hosted them and the local assembly where they worship.

Participants came from across the country. Some of them traveled overnight while others travelled for more than 24 hours to arrive at the rocky city of Jos. They were filled with anticipations, expectations and uncertainties of what their experiences will be. Little did they know that God had a great plan for them at HARVEST’24.

HARVEST’24 kicked off with a charge to be God’s man that will respond to the confrontation of the enemy among the Nations. The participants were taken through ” Training for Harvest”, a Missions and Evangelism training package developed by Omega Centre for World Missions. Some of the topics considered include Biblical Basis of Missions, Cross Cultural Communication, The Challeges of the Unfinished Task, Discipleship and Mission among others.

The training was eye opening and transformational for the participants who confessed to have a better understanding of missions and missions work in a new dimension and with clarity.

Participants were also trained in skills acquisition which they later used in gospel engagement on the field.

After four days of training and orientation, participants were sent to five mission fields. Their experiences were diverse as they engaged the realities of the fields with the grace and love of God.

It was the dawn of light across the five Missions fields in northern Nigeria where they were deployed. One of the teams had a time of dethroning the kingdom of darkness in divers deliverance prayers from demonic oppressions and healing sessions.

Another team had a time of harvest of souls through door to door evangelism, film show and creative access ministry while others had various kingdom engagements with the fields they served. For all the team, their time on the field was an opportunity to invest in intense and selfless prayers for the tribes they have been sent. Aside the impact on the field, their time with the Missionaries was an experience of fellowship and learning. Indeed the tribes among which they served will never be the same again.

They all returned with great testimonies of exploit and transformation. On their return, there was a time of debriefing to help each of them process their experiences. The debriefing focused on their experiences on the field, the test of their social skills in relating in a team and across culture. It also test issues of christlikeness and finally, the debriefing helped them to process what God is asking them to do in His Mission.

It was exciting and gratifying to listen to participants express their hearts, their commitments and response to the nudgings of God in their hearts. Some committed to a career in Missions, others responded to be senders in Missions while several of them saw needs to respond to on the Missions field where they served.

As they departed to their different bases across the country, they were released with fire to do exploit for Jesus as they follow Him into His agenda for their lives. Please pray for them.
